How strong is the Mazda CX-5's engine?

Just like most of Mazda's other models, the CX-5 comes in three trim levels. The Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring all feature the same base engine. The 2018 CX-5 comes standard with a 2.5-liter I4 engine that shows off 187 horsepower. Perhaps the biggest benefit of the CX-5's engine is the vehicle's fuel economy. The midsize crossover averages up to 31 highway MPG, which ranks highly among the competition. Only a six-speed automatic transmission is available on the new CX-5, but each trim level does come with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
