2019 Mazda CX-5 named 2019 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ for high safety ratings

Mazda is proud to share that the 2019 Mazda CX-5 was named one of the 2019 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ vehicles for its high safety ratings. Other Mazda vehicles have been given similar honors this year with the 2019 Mazda CX-3 compact crossover SUV and the 2019 Mazda CX-9 midsize crossover SUV earning the Top Safety Pick award when they are equipped with specific front crash prevention features and headlights. What is the Top Safety Pick+ award?

The Top Safety Pick awards have been around for six years since 2013. It is awarded to the vehicles that rank the best in several categories of safety. The ratings include those for vehicle accidents, for crash prevention, and for headlights. In order to be a Top Safety Pick+ the vehicle must earn ratings of “Good" for six crash tests and headlight ratings, and they must earn ratings of “Advanced” or “Superior” for front crash prevention. These awards are given by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
