It may seem like it with Winter coming right around the corner, but in beautiful California, there’s still plenty of time left for an adventure. One or two more trips into the great unknown or maybe just a regular camping trip out to the wilderness, either way, you’re going to need a vehicle that can get you where you need to go.
Of course, it’s not just about having a big, beefy engine. A good car needs to have a lot more going for it, but fuel efficiency is a good place to start. If the engine under-performs than all the fancy additions in the world won’t make it worth your time. Good news for the 2018 Mazda CX-5 is that it has both.
2018 Mazda CX-5 Fuel Efficiency
Starting under the hood with the 2018 Mazda CX-5 it sports a 2.5L inline-4 engine, that’s the same engine that comes standard in all the different trim levels. The CX-5 gets a combined 28 mpg which is impressive for an SUV and paired with a 14.8-gallon fuel tank that means you’re getting a range of almost 460 highway miles before you need to start looking for a gas station. That’s a lot of ground to cover between fill-ups meaning no destination is out of reach.
If you have a bit more rugged adventuring style then the 2018 Mazda CX-5 does have available all-wheel drive on every trim level to give you a bit more stability without having to sacrifice much in the way of range. AWD vehicles do have a slightly lower fuel economy, but a larger gas tank helps them keep pace. Of course, there are plenty of safety and entertainment features as well that haven’t been touched upon.
