Vacuum cleaner
This is the most common and most effective way to rid your car's interior of dog or cat hair. Pets who shed really shed. Their fur can get stuck to almost any surface and it can be a horrible experience for any of your passengers with allergies. A vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment and a brush is extremely effective at removing pet hair. Scrub on the seats and let the machine suck the hair up for good.

Hair mat
Mats that cover your seats are available for sale at most department stores. While they aren't usually very aesthetic, they are effective. If your dog sheds hair on the mat, it's a much easier clean up than if he does on the seats. Simply remove the mat (carefully) when you get home and shake off the hair. This will do a good job of preventing pet hair from ever getting on the seats in the first place.
Lint rollers
These are effective for a short period of time. The sticky paper needs to be replaced often after only a few rolls, so this is not a recommended method if you have a large surface area to clean. However, lint rollers are great for getting any remaining stragglers.
Damp cloth
If you don't mind getting your seats a little wet, a wet washcloth is a good way to go. The hair will cling to the rag and come off of the seats with almost no effort put in. Dry your seats with a fan or a dry cloth and you'll be good to go!
