What Engine Options Does the 2018 Mazda3 Have?
Options, options, options, that’s all we want when we arrive at a dealership. We don’t want to be locked down to any one choice when buying a car so the choice is of the utmost importance. Models, trim levels, package options, and so on are all things we get to choose between when it comes to making a final decision.
When it really comes down to it, the most important choice we have is what’s underneath the hood. A good engine is what makes a car fun to drive. If you don’t get excited when you rev the engine, then you need to upgrade your ride. The 2018 Mazda3 has a couple ofdifferent options if you need a bit more juice in your car.
2018 Mazda3 Engine Options
Standard the 2018 Mazda3 is rocking a sturdy 2.0L inline-4 engine, it packs a lot of power for a smaller sized engine. It puts out 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque making it a tough engine in a sleek, sedan package. The 2.0L engine also gets a combined 31 mpg and has over a 500 highway mile range. Combining power and efficiency into one little package is nice, but if you need a little bit more the Mazda3 has you covered, don’t worry.
Taking a small step up you can upgrade to a 2.5L inline-4 engine that gives you a boost to your power output. This fine piece of machinery puts out 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. That’s a nice improvement if you need it. You do sacrifice a bit in fuel economy, only getting 29 combined mpg and highway mile range of just under 450. The sound it makes as you rev up that bigger engine is more than worth it though.
