i-ACTIVESENSE® active safety features

i-ACTIVESENSE® is an umbrella term that covers many different active and passive safety technologies found on Mazda models. Active safety features are ones that are designed to help prevent an accident from happening in the first place. These include Mazda Radar Cruise Control, adaptive front lighting, high beam control, rear vehicle monitoring, and forward obstruction warning. These systems will alert you of hazards ahead as well as keep you aware of your surroundings.

i-ACTIVESENSE® pre-crash safety technology

While accidents are rare, it is still important to prepare for the worst. Some features are designed to keep you in your lane or keep you at a certain speed, and some are meant to diminish the risk of a collision. Smart brake support helps drivers avoid frontal crashes and reduces the damage inflicted in the event that a collision does happen. Acceleration control is an intelligent system helps to avoid the "sudden takeoff" when the gas pedal is pressed by mistake. Whether you want to admit it or not, you have probably accidentally tapped your accelerator, and i-ACTIVESENSE® helps to reduce the fallout from that.

Other inclusions found within i-ACTIVESENSE® are sensors like milliwave radar, visible wavelength cameras, near-infrared lasers, and quasi-milliwave radar in the rear. Each feature listed is part of Mazda's greater goal to reduce and eventually eliminate car accidents, injuries, and deaths on the road. i-ACTIVESENSE® is still evolving and will only become better at achieving those goals in the years to come.
