2019 Mazda CX-3 vs 2018 Mazda CX-5
It is time for another Mazda vs Mazda comparison. This time we are comparing the 2019 Mazda CX-3 to the 2018 Mazda CX-5. Price-wise, the 2019 Mazda CX-3 wins out. It has a starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $20,390, compared to the 2018 Mazda CX-5 which has a starting MSRP of $24,150.
We decided to compare these two vehicles because on the surface they are very similar, and it might be hard to choose between the two. They are both five passenger vehicles with four doors, but they differ in capacities, which we will highlight in the chart below. As you can see in the chart above, the 2018 Mazda CX-5 is quite a bit more spacious, but it compromises on fuel economy. Now we will go through some specific features that they differ in. For the purposes of this comparison, we are focusing on the Sport FWD trim level of each vehicle, which is the most basic trim level. The 2019 Mazda CX-3 has optional automatic climate control, which is not available for the 2018 Mazda CX-5. The CX-3 also has standard Halogen headlights, which are again not available for the CX-5. The CX-3 has optional navigation aid, which is not available for the CX-5.
That marks three features that are either optional or standard for the 2019 Mazda CX-3 and not for the 2018 Mazda CX-5, and in all other features they are the same. However, you can change the available and standard features by purchasing a higher trim level. Also, the 2019 Mazda CX-3 may have more features simply because it is a newer model year.
