Rear cross traffic alert detects approaching vehicles and notifies the driver with an audible warning. Lane departure warning is also on the new Mazda3. This feature alerts the driver when the car is about to unintentionally leave its lane. Similar to that, there is also the lane-keep assist feature. This senses accidental lane departures and performs a minor steering correction accordingly. Other standard and available safety features on the 2018 Mazda3 include an adaptive front-lighting system, blind spot monitoring, smart city brake support, and radar cruise control.
