Each of the aforementioned trim levels include the same standard engine. A 2.0-liter I-4 engine with 155 horsepower is what makes the Miata cruise. The car also comes with either a six-speed automatic and auto-manual transmission, or a six-speed all manual transmission. It should be noted that the automatic transmission results in a slightly-better fuel economy of 35 MPG on the highway. The 2017 MX-5 Miata also gets 148 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,600 RPM. The standard drivetrain on all trim levels is rear-wheel drive.

Other engine and mechanical details include a DOHC valvetrain, stainless steel exhaust, a standard electronic stability system, brake assist, and speed-sensitive steering.

The Club trim level starts at $28,800 and the Grand Touring starts at just a tick above $30,065.
